On the rainy winter day…

by Doroteja

Hello my lovely crocheters!

Hope you are doing well.  The year is coming to an end and now is the best time to make new goals for the next year. This blog post will be a small update on my work and my ideas for the future.

At the moment I am working on two new premium baby booties tutorials. They are in testing phase at the moment and I hope I will release them before Christmas.

Baby Booties by Croby Patterns

New free pattern, the winter edition of the Violet Butterfly baby booties will be up soon. I am editing the pictures and the tutorial for the last couple of days. And because it’s cloudy all the time it’s almost impossible to take good photos.  I think I will wait for a sunny day or until my Amazon package with studio lights arrives. Yes, studio lights. Can’t wait! I would not be dependent on the weather outside or the time of the day anymore. It’s more than just perfect since I could say I am more of a night owl than the early bird.

In the next month and a half, we are moving to another apartment. For a couple of days now, we are cleaning all the drawers, shelves and closets in our current home. We decided to throw away or donate everything that we do not need before we move to our new home. Cleaning my closet, where I keep materials for my DIY projects, was for me the hardest part.  I found a few packages of FIMO polymer clay at the bottom of one of my drawers. I knew that I have to use them soon or I will throw them away. If you are familiar with FIMO, you know than when it gets old it’s hard to work with. I decided to give it a try and created two big crochet hooks. The results were amazing! Of course, I took pictures and wrote a tutorial. My plan is to release it before the end of the year.

DIY Crochet Hook by Croby Patterns

I have been playing with my thoughts to start Croby Patterns YouTube channel since I can remember. I even asked you guys which tutorials do you prefer on my Facebook once. So many of you said that you would love to see a video tutorial that goes hand in hand with a written one. I did try to shoot my Green Zebra pattern twice, but I didn’t like the results at all so I didn’t upload it. You know what people say, “third time’s a charm”. We will see, I can’t promise you anything, but there is a big chance that I will do it in 2016. Fingers crossed.

That is probably all for now. Maybe just a hint that I was working on a project in November that means A LOT to me. You can try to guess what it could be and leave a comment down below. The person who gets it right will get a pattern for free. I will share the big news with you in a month of March or April I think. Until then …

Have a great holidays, surround yourself with people you love most, be with them and be grateful for them. They are the greatest gift in your life you could ever get.

And if you will have an extra hour or two, to spend with a crochet hook and some yarn, you know where to find the patterns.

Love you guys and stay creative!
