FREE Crochet Pattern – Crochet Baby Sweater Summer Sun

by Doroteja

Hello my lovely crocheters!

I’ve created a pattern for beautiful yellow beige sweater a month or two ago, but I was having a hard time to write down the pattern for bigger sizes that would fit on babies the right way. After testing it two times, with more than ten testers, I still wasn’t totally satisfied with the final result of the sweater for bigger sizes. So I decided not to release it.

I put the sweater project on the side for some time. But there was, and still is, hope in my heart that I will get some crazy inspiration one day and solve the puzzle how to create the sweater for bigger babies that will fit them perfectly. Well, I am not so sure that day will come anytime soon. All these new ideas are buzzing in my head lately. So, I’ve decided to publish the pattern for the smallest, newborn size that is so cute and fits nicely, for crochet baby sweater on my blog as a freebie .

Enjoy the pattern and please do not forget to share the pattern on my blog with a lot of new and exciting stuff to come very soon with your crocheting buddies from all over the world.

*I would like to give a special thanks to all of my lovely testers that helped me with Summer Sun pattern and with all of other patterns. You are the best! Thank you so much!

Love you guys and have a great time crocheting!

With love,

Doroteja

Crochet Baby Sweater – Summer Sun

Free crochet Baby Sweater by Croby Patterns

The Body of the sweater is worked in one piece. After you finish working on the main part – body, you start working on the sleeves.

Chain at the beginning of round does not count as first st unless otherwise stated.

Join the round with ss. Ss does not count as a stitch unless otherwise stated.

Always be careful what is the ss and what the first/last stitch! Put the marker into the joining ss if you are later not sure which stitch is ss.

You should start each round in the first stitch; so if you are working in direction hook going from outside of sweater to the inside of the sweater you should start in the base of the ch. And if you are working hook going from inside of sweater to the outside of the sweater you should be careful on the chain and ss! Ch and ss does not count as a stitch; you should skip them and start in the last stitch from the previous round.

If the number is written:
in front of the stitch – 3 hdc = work 3 hdc into the same stitch
after the stitch – hdc 3 = work hdc into next 3 stitches.

You can only print it directly from the browser. Unfortunately I had to copy protect the text. Too may people was stealing my patterns and started posting them on their websites. ☹️ Happy crocheting! 😊

Hello! I made your booties with success so now trying this cute pattern. Is it really 4 rounds of rib for the bottom though (2, 3, 4, 5)? The picture really doesn’t look like 4 rounds – it looks more like 2 and I feel 4 would be very deep. Thanks!
